After 2 days of standard packaged tours (Coron Island and nearby beaches), time for some DIY. Both Calauit and dugong tours are expensive standalone tours available from Coron. With some help from my awesome guesthouse, I was able to check out these 2 attractions without a tour for a fraction of the usual price. Here’s how I did it!
After a fun-filled day with lots of snorkeling on the Super Ultimate Tour, I thought it was time to take a break from snorkeling and enjoy more of the beaches Coron had to offer. And so I booked the Island Escapade Tour on my second full day in Coron, Palawan.
Wanting to try something new and with not much time to plan, I found myself alone in Coron, in the Filipino province of Palawan in July. I had almost a week in Coron but never knowing what would come in the following days, I took up the most comprehensive of the tours on the first day, the Super Ultimate Tour. Turned out to be the perfect introduction to Coron, Palawan, and as luck would have it, the only day of
North Sumatra has so much to offer, from the endless natural wonders, to food, culture, and history. However if you’re short on time, like I was, here’s a 6 day itinerary I used last year for a glimpse of north Sumatra. Be warned though, that completing this will leave you wanting for more!
The last stop of our short north Sumatra adventures, Medan! Back where we started 5 days before, for a quick tour of the city before heading home. Medan isn’t exactly an exciting city, but there’s still some history, culture, and lots of food. That’s all we needed for one last day before heading back to our little office cubicles.
On the way back from Lake Toba to Medan, we made a detour and headed towards Berastagi, the town town in the mountains, to check out 2 amazing attractions nearby-Sipisopiso waterfall and Sibayak volcano. Here’s how you can do it too!
For something so beautiful as Lake Toba, so near to home, it’s really a wonder how I’ve waited 28 years to visit. Or rather, visit again, as my parents apparently came here while my mum was pregnant with me. Finally made the trip this year, so here’s a 3 day trip to the largest lake in Indonesia and the largest volcanic lake in the world, Lake Toba!
Banjar and Bantiran, places in the north of Bali far off the usual tourist trail. Yet, there is much to offer for anyone looking for some peace and quiet, and something a little different in Bali.
Without the luxury of time we decided to go on a one day private tour of north Bali to be able to see more sights on our third day in north Bali. Leaving the coast and going up the mountains down south, the sights that awaited us were truly breathtaking.
If you’re heading to north Bali, Singaraja is certainly worth a day trip. While not having any of the fancy beach clubs or heartstopping attractions, the old colonial charm of this once bustling port capital is sure to win you over, especially if you’re done with the crowds down south.
